This world is too big for any of us to grasp. Paint helps me engage with the world, and respond to the beauty and suffering around me. Through the intimate attention portraiture requires, I discover more of the mystery of being human. Each person is complex, and our characters take time to unwrap. In this way we mirror our Creator, who is endlessly beautiful, terrifying, and holy, and in whom seeking leads to finding.

"The Gospel tells us constantly to run the risk of a face-to-face encounter with others, with their physical presence which challenges us, with their pain and their pleas, with their joy which infects us in our close and continuous interaction." -Pope Francis
